How BrainCore Neurofeedback Therapy Works
Neurofeedback training, also referred to as EEG Biofeedback or neurotherapy, is a form of operant conditioning during which the patient trains their own brainwaves. Neurofeedback presents the patient with real-time feedback on brainwave activity. Brainwave activity is measured by sensors that are placed on the scalp. The sensors detect brain wave activity including Delta, Theta, Alpha and Beta. When brain activity changes in the direction desired by the neurofeedback protocol, a positive "reward", typically in the form of a visual display and/or sound is given to the patient. It is actually a learning modality designed to retrain dys-regulated brainwave patterns. The goal of all Neurofeedback is to transform an unhealthy, dys-regulated brainwave pattern into a normal, healthy, organized pattern. By doing this, the brain becomes more stable and is able to operate optimally and efficiently. It is completely noninvasive and is considered by the Food and Drug Administration to be safe.
We perform a comprehensive qEEG brain map. This process allows us to read the frequency of areas across the brain. Much like a weather map that shows high and low temperatures, this map will show brain frequency and which areas may be over or under signaling that may be contributing to symptoms within the body.
